BIG, BOLD & BEAUTIFUL

Familiar with our work, having collaborated with us on their own HQs, Studio RHE asked us to prepare and install branded vinyl for their new tenant, Acast - a global podcast platform in the midst of setting up and settling into its East London studio, a vast expanse perfectly suited to audio and video production.

From the outside, the offices stretch across the breadth of the street, and from the inside, the space is open yet structured - exposed concrete, long sightlines, and a mezzanine cutting across double-height glazing, providing a strong framework for large-scale graphics inside and out.

Working from supplied artwork, we carried out a full site survey, adjusting layouts so they worked cleanly around doors, glazing panels, balustrades, the mezzanine edge and other architectural elements.

Particular focus was given to the internal feature graphic, ensuring it sits cleanly within the structure and brings cohesion to its wider context. Spanning almost 7 metres in height and close to 8 metres across, the printed vinyl mural establishes a strong visual anchor, resolving naturally in the space. Its crisp lines and careful application maintain alignment as you move through it, consistent from all vantage points.

Given the height and span of the glazing and walls, installation required setting up an indoor scaffold tower, carefully managed to protect finishes and keep the client operational throughout the fit-out phase.

Scaling the Acast Brand Across Its East London Studio

Despite being assembled window pane by window pane, from the street the building resolves as a single graphic gesture. Perforated vinyl wraps the lower glazing in colour and pattern, with the Acast name stretching cleanly across the facade - bold enough to register at distance, yet refined enough to reward a closer look. A combination of soft gradients and precise geometric linework is printed onto one-way vision film, creating a surface that shifts in character as you move past it.

Beyond this outer layer, the glazing continues to perform, pulling daylight deep into the space while maintaining a clear visual connection to the street - shaping a workspace that feels connected, active and outward-facing rather than closed off by its own branding.

Within the double-height volume, the wall graphic takes its position with intent - visible from the lounge below and from the desks dotted across the mezzanine. It doesn’t compete with the architecture; it works with it, anchoring the interior and bringing coherence across levels and sightlines.

Its muted palette and lateral composition allow it to sit comfortably against the concrete and glazing, carrying the identity of the space without overwhelming it. Paired with the window manifestations, the graphics extend across surfaces and scales, forming a unified visual language throughout the studio.

Alongside the large-format elements, a series of smaller cut vinyl applications were introduced across the glazing - room numbering and subtle manifestations set in reverse-cut white vinyl. Positioned at eye level, these provide clarity and wayfinding without interrupting the openness of the space. Repeated consistently across windows and meeting rooms, they introduce a finer layer of information, complementing the broader scheme while maintaining the same level of precision in alignment and placement.

The result is an outstanding recording environment that reads clearly from street to sound booth - confident in its expression, controlled in its execution and fully aligned with how the space is used day to day.

FAQs - Acast Studios, Shoreditch

DO YOU OFFER LARGE-SCALE WALL AND WINDOW GRAPHICS?

Yes - we produce and install large-scale graphics across both interior and exterior environments. From expansive glazing to double-height walls, we work with a range of materials and techniques to deliver bold, durable results.

Each project is tailored to the space, ensuring the graphics not only stand out, but sit comfortably within their surroundings.

HOW DO YOU APPROACH PROJECTS LIKE THIS?

Every project begins with understanding - the building, the brand and how the space is used. We carry out a detailed site survey to assess surfaces, access and sightlines, then adapt the artwork so it integrates cleanly with the architecture.

This includes adjusting layouts around doors, glazing divisions, balustrades and structural elements, ensuring the final result feels intentional and fully resolved.

HOW DO LARGE-SCALE GRAPHICS IMPACT A WORKSPACE?

Done well, large-scale graphics do more than brand a space - they shape how it feels and functions.

They can establish focal points, guide movement, reinforce identity across different zones and bring cohesion to large or complex environments. In studio and office settings, this can enhance both client perception and the day-to-day experience of those working within them.

WHAT SHOULD I CONSIDER BEFORE INSTALLING LARGE-SCALE GRAPHICS?

A few key factors can make a significant difference:

  • Surface type: glass, painted walls, concrete and metal all behave differently

  • Lighting: natural light can change how graphics are perceived throughout the day

  • Viewing distance: designs need to work both up close and from afar

  • Access: installation may require specialist equipment such as scaffold towers

  • Longevity: whether the application is short-term or permanent

We guide clients through each of these considerations to ensure the final result performs as intended.

HOW ARE LARGE-SCALE VINYL GRAPHICS PRODUCED?

Large-scale graphics are typically produced using high-resolution digital printing onto specialist vinyl materials, or through precision-cut vinyl for solid colour lettering and shapes.

Printed vinyl allows for complex designs, gradients and imagery, while cut vinyl is often used for cleaner, more minimal applications where durability and crisp edges are key. In many cases, the two are combined to achieve the right balance of impact and clarity.

Once produced, the graphics are installed in sequence on site, where alignment, scale and surface all need to resolve precisely.

CAN LARGE-SCALE GRAPHICS BE APPLIED WITHOUT DAMAGING THE BUILDING?

Yes - with the correct preparation and materials, large-scale vinyl graphics are non-invasive and fully removable if required.

We carefully assess surfaces during the survey phase to ensure compatibility, and installation is managed to protect finishes - particularly in high-spec interior environments.

HOW DO YOU ENSURE GRAPHICS WORK WITH ARCHITECTURE, NOT AGAINST IT?

We treat the building as part of the design. Rather than simply applying graphics, we consider how they will be experienced from different vantage points and as people move through the space.

The aim is always the same: to create work that feels integrated - aligned with the structure, proportion and rhythm of the environment - so it enhances the space rather than competing with it.

WHAT TYPES OF VINYL GRAPHICS DO YOU OFFER?

We work with a wide range of vinyl applications, from full-colour printed wall graphics to cut vinyl lettering, frosted manifestations and specialist films for glazing.

Each material is selected based on the environment and purpose - whether that’s bold, large-scale branding, subtle privacy treatments or wayfinding elements that need to integrate seamlessly into a space.

CAN YOU WORK FROM CLIENT-SUPPLIED DESIGNS?

Absolutely. Many of our projects begin with artwork provided by clients, architects or design studios. Our role is to translate those designs into a built outcome - ensuring they work at scale, across materials and within the realities of the space.

Where needed, we’ll suggest refinements to improve legibility, alignment or installation feasibility, while staying true to the original concept.

Have designs ready? Get in touch with us to review your artwork and bring it to life.

DO YOU HANDLE INSTALLATION AS WELL AS PRODUCTION?

Yes, we manage the entire process, from initial survey through to final installation.

For projects of this scale, installation is critical. We coordinate access, equipment and sequencing to minimise disruption, whether working within live environments or alongside ongoing fit-outs.

WHAT ARE WINDOW MANIFESTATIONS AND WHEN ARE THEY REQUIRED?

Window manifestations are graphics applied to glazing, often used to improve visibility and safety while contributing to the overall design of a space.

They can take many forms - from simple bands and dots that meet building regulations, to fully customised designs that align with your brand. In studio and office environments, they’re often used to define meeting rooms, sound booths and quieter zones without losing light or openness.

WHAT IS PERFORATED WINDOW VINYL AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Perforated window vinyl (often referred to as one-way vision film) is designed specifically for glazing. From the outside, it reads as a solid printed graphic, while from the inside, the perforations allow light through and maintain outward visibility.

This makes it ideal for street-facing spaces where branding, privacy and daylight all need to coexist - allowing you to create impact externally without compromising the internal environment.

HOW DURABLE IS PERFORATED VINYL FOR EXTERNAL USE?

When specified and installed correctly, perforated vinyl is highly durable. It’s built to withstand UV exposure, rain and temperature changes typical of urban environments.

Lifespan will vary depending on orientation and exposure, but external applications can perform reliably for several years. Protective laminates can also be applied to extend longevity and preserve print quality.

We assess each site individually to ensure the right materials are selected for the conditions.
